I lodged a complaint on Hellopeter on 12th April complaining that it was impossible to get Standard Bank Insurance to attend to an insurance claim.
ONE MONTH LATER - nothing has changed! I am still waiting for an assessor to be appointed - despite the fact that I submitted proof that that the item had been repaired and paid for along with my claim.
This is standard practice for Standard Insurance - who do everything possible to delay/avoid paying claims. I had my own contractor undertake the repair - because I have previously waited 8 months for Standard Insurance to undertake a repair - as they just continued to state that they were waiting for the assessors report.
After 35 years banking with Standard Bank - and being insured with them for over 25 years I am now cancelling my insurance and moving to a company that does not have a call centre that blocks the customer from being able to speak to someone in authority - and which does not have a policy of deliberately doing everything possible to avoid paying out insurance claims.
Standard Insurance is a totally unethical and disgusting company which should be investigated for harmful business practices.
