Bad service with my insurance claim

I got an accident on the 16 June 2013, even today I'm still waiting to hear what is the decision with my car insurance claim. I've been calling them, making follow ups and what I get is, we are still waiting for assessor's report. Today I get a call from Regional Metro Police Office, where the car was impounded after the accident, they saying I have until 16:30 today to take my car out of their yard, because they are not responsible for looking after my car. Then I call my insurance, they are still telling me stories, they are saying I should contact the assessor, I did that, the assessor tells me that it is not his responsibility to collect my car. Please help me
