I have had an AIG hospital policy for many years. I suddenly ended up in hospital end of May and claimed for the 1st time since I had the policy. I phoned them on 3 June but heard nothing again. When I followed up on 11 June they said I still need to send in more documents which I did the same day. Again no feedback and when I phoned on 26 June they said they are still busy with the claim but will escalate it and give me feedback withing 48 hours... yeah 48 hours! No feedback once again so I phoned them on 1 June. Another and promise to give me feedback within 48 hours and the excuse that they have such a backlog... NOT MY PROBLEM is it? I've been patient for a month now since I put the claim in and their turnaround time is supposedly 7 - 14 working days. It seems that this insurance company is just another - quick to collect my debit order every month, but when it comes to paying they have all the excuses in the world. Do I really now have to go to the Ombudsman to get this resolved? Ridiculous! Its very disappointing that insurance companies rip people off like this!
