Listed even though account settled

I had an account (credit card with Nedbank) which I defaulted on and this was handed to the recovery team. Once handed, I settled the FULL outstanding amount (July 2012). Received a letter confirming this, 1st written communication I received from them ever. This year I find out I have a judgement against my name which will only be cleared after 5 years. At no point in time was it communicated to me me and I have never received any such communication from Nedbank besides my settlement letter. I find this absolutely ridiculous. I have e-mailed a query to the recoveries team and AGAIN have not relieved a single response. i will be taking this up further and WILL be exposing them further.
