Beware Promise of No Excess

I signed up quite a long time ago for Virgin Insurance on my home and my car. The car policy promised No Excess (I am a pensioner). I recently had a small accident, my first claim, and am horrified to hear now that Virgin will not pay because the quote is very slightly below R5, 000 and they only pay for claims above R5, 000. What is that if not an excess? and a very high excess at that!
I have just received the quote prepared by the Assessment Centre and in fact that quote even gives the amount of the repair and states: Less Excess: R5, 000. Misleading if every anything was misleading and I am shocked that a company the size of Virgin does something like this. I AWAIT THEIR RESPONSE TO THIS COMPLAINT.
