Settlement Amount

I owe Standard bank R4700.00 I would like to settle my account but I was told I will only be able to get a discount of 20% if I owe them R5000.00 or more. I find this really stupid as I am urged to pay off my account but I dont get the benefit of paying my account early (20% discount) I think this is really stupid and will move my account to a more understading bank.
