Insurance Claim

On Sunday morning at 06h20 we had a break-in my computer an camera was. My window was broken to get access. I live in Kenwyn a decent and quiet area, in the 15 years of living here we have never had a break-in ever. This morning my insurance company SANTAM of 5 years tells us our contents is not covered and we have have never ever claimed from then. Funny enough that we have CONTENTS COVER from them. The consultant says that we cannot claim as we do not have any burglar bars, we have never had burglar bars. Is it not your responsibility (SANTAM) to inform us when signing up about the above. I think you guys are running a shady business. I would request that you e mail me all info. and correspondence with you guys upon signing up (calls, contracts everything). I don't believe you guys abided by the customer protection act.
