I attempted through Internet Banking to electronic pay speed fines. This did not work. I decided to go the Glen to Customer Services for assistance. The following is the chain of events experienced at ABSA on Saturday 22 June:
o Stand in queue at Customer Services for 20 minutes. When reaching the front, two employees at Customer Services did not know how internet banking work and also could not provide assistance on how to pay fines (Johannesburg municipality)
o I then needed to go the tellers for assistance as I needed to pay they fines through them according to Customer Services. After waiting another 15 minutes in the queue, I finally reached the front. The employee with the name of Mathew attempted to make an electronic payment, but could not. I then said I must go outside to the ATM to draw cash. I said that I could not draw more than R1000, he then checked on line and said that I could
o I went to the ATM, and could not draw R1500 as it was above the daily limit. Livid with anger I went back in again to Matthew and explain to him that I could not draw the cash
