Debit Orde

I closed a revolving credit account after paying it in full. I was advised by the bank (call centre) that the debit order has been cancelled. However, the debit order went off today. I was advised by the branch that I need to call the call centre, the call centre (after waiting 20 minutes to speak to someone) said that I need to go into the branch. What kind of system does Standard bank have where you charge someone an amount on an account that is closed, when they don't owe you anything? That sounds like to me. I need to be refundned the full amount of the debit order.
