I spoke to a Standard bank agent on Sat 25/05/2013 to enquire what the swipe limit is on my Visa debit card. The agent I spoke to told me that there is no limit. I went to the shops and when it came time to pay my transaction was rejected due to exceeding my daily limit. I called GE again and spoke to TL, Rosh. She without asking me for any of my details to check my account she advised that i can draw my max limit then also swipe my max limit. This didn't work - error again that i exeeded my daily limit. I needed to leave the store without my goods. When i got home I called GE again and spoke to Tato, at this point I immediately asked to speak to his TL, he put Tumi on. I explained my issue and she asked for my ID # to check my account - she then put Tato back on the call to do a security check. The only info he was prepared to take was my ID, account and card # even though he was able to get my other info. He then refused to escalate back to his manager. He kept me on hold for about 20mins until i dropped the call and called back only to find the call center was closed. I am unable to use my card at all. I have not exceeded my limit however i am stuck with no money over a weekend.
