Mysterious Charges

I was recently hijacked and had my vehicle taken. The said vehicle was financed by MFC and as such my insurance requested a settlement letter. The settlement was substantially higher then what I owed due to the fact that I did not give 90 days notice. How am I supposed to plan for a hijacking and give notice. After I complained I was told that the penalty fee would be removed. The settlement amount came down slightly but not enough to make sense. I have repeatedly asked for a breakdown of how the settlement was calculated but they just say they will send it to me and it never arrives. So much for transparency!!! What am I being charged for? Why wont you they send me a breakdown?
