I took out an Old Mutual investment policy in 2012 and it was started on the 5 Sept 2012. The policy was taken out over the phone and the consultant's name was Angelique. After discussing the policy with my broker, I decided to have it cancelled and i sent an email to the group services department. The first response was on the 13 March 2013 where i received a tracking number. Then on the 15 March 2013, I received an e-mail from Verona Parkerson stating that I had to fill in forms with CERTIFIED proof of my identity, address and banking details. This is what i don't understand... the policy was taken over the phone, so why can't i cancel it over the phone??? Verona's response to that was that it eliminates!! so if it "eliminates", why was the policy offered over the phone and why couldn't Old Mutual send forms that i would have filled in??

After this contact with Verona, two further premiums were deducted from the account, even though she had and instruction that i no longer wanted the policy. I then took it upon myself to close my business and head over to the Old Mutual branch in Lenasia where i received the most horrendous treatment ever!!! I just want my money!!!
