Promotions Benefit Fail

ABSA offer a promotion - Open a credit card account with us and get a low interest rate for 8 months on any balance transferred to the account. When I collect the card nobody at the branch knows anything about the promotion. After spending an hour at the branch with no success I send ABSA an email asking how to do the magical transfer. The reply 2 days later - 'Please send your client code from your statement before we can help"

It's a new account? I have to wait for a month to get a statement?
