I have an ABSA savings account to which an FNB credit card is linked. On 29/09/2013 I transferred R2, 000.00 from an ABSA ATM to the credit card.

Today the money still not reflected on the credit card. I went to ABSA Centurion to get confirmation that the money was in fact transferred, and on the statement another account reflects - totally different from the linked account. When I requested the cashier to reverse the transfer, she told me I had to go to FNB (!) to recall the request. FNB advised ABSA should recall the instruction.

I then called ABSA's line and spoke to Abongile, who did not understand what I explained to him. He then transferred me to a normal call centre and when I explained again to that person (sorry, do not know his name) he said I should hold on while he enquiries about something. Not once did he ask for my name, surname, account number or ID number. After holding for 3 to 5 minutes, I put the phone down, because I was getting nowhere.

If even the ABSA Fraudline is incompetent, what hope is there for ABSA?
