Claim not finalised after six months

Hail damaged roof in November 2012. Std bank believes that the roof was damaged by hail due to me not doing maintenance. How do you prevent hail from damaging a roof? Offered to pay couple of hundred rand for paint inside house where water still comes through broken roof tiles. Claim still not finalised after 6 months. Maybe they should just tell me that they are not going to fix the roof so that I can make a call. Dont know who is in charge now, but the service.
