Debit order not being cancelled

I called into their office and requested that my rewards card with them to be cancelled in November. At the time of taking out this card I lady that I spoke to was so full of promises but not once have I been able to use this card in Port Elizabeth. on the 10th December a payment was deducted off my bank again. On quering this I was told that there is a 30 day cancellation period. So I'm ok with this. Now January a debit goes off again and once again i query and now get a mail from Elaine Singh saying
" The 30 working days for your cancellation is only working days, in December the company closed from the 13th of December to the 6th of January 2014. The 30 working days for your cancellation would have meant a January debit going off, I assure you that the payment will not go off in February"

It's not my problem that they close in December!!! I cancelled in November!

Terrible service and I see i'm not the only one struggling to get debit orders cancelled!!!
