We have used Groupon several times. On this occasion we purchased a voucher to a Pantelis Fourways through Groupon. Several days before we called Pantelis Fourways to make a reservation for lunch. On the day we had booked for we call them again and confirmed it as well as confirmed their address.
On arriving at Pantelis we discovered they were under renovations and were closed for business. We asked to speak to the owner, and he informed us that the business had closed down and now was re-opened under new management. We asked why we had not been contacted but he could not provide a satisfing answer. He looked in his booking sheet and our name and telephone number were there- however no had contacted us to tell us what had happened. In fact the owner was very rude to us and our guests that we had taken.
The very same day we called Groupon to explain what had happened, and have called a few time after this to follow up, however no one form Groupon has contact us nor have we been refunded.
Groupon should be more selective, and quick to sort out these issues. All we want is a refund. We continue to support Groupon, but will be very much more sceptical in future. Please call us!
