Delay on the bus provoqued we missed our flight

On 6th april, We took a greyhound bus from cape town to J'burg leaving at 12:45 and arriving the next day at 6:30.
First, the departure was delayed by 45 mins for reasons the company didn't explain to us. After that instead of trying to compensate the delay with shorter stops on the route they stopped 3 times for more than 25 mins and once more for 45 mins as we waited for another bus to arrive so that the drivers could change over - on each occasion, these could have easily have been made much shorter to make up the delay. At 17.30, We first spoke to the attendant and the driver and explained to them that we had to that a int'l flight leaving at 10:10 in the morning and that we absolutely had to be in J'burg by 8am to make the flight. We were told we would arrive at 7.30. At the next stop we spoke again with them and they reassured us that the bus was on schedule to arrive at 7.30. When the drivers changed, we again emphasised this point and were told we would arrive in time. As it became clear the bus would be VERY late, we called the tracker team and they were extremely rude to us and eventually hung up on us. Finally we arrived at 8.45 and subsequently missed our flight.
