Seat booked and paid, but Bus too full to board!!

I booked and paid for a bus ticket on city to city from sterkspruit for my childs nanny to Johannesburg on 12 jan 2014. The bus was due to depart at 09:00 from sterkspruit, when she attempted to board she was told that the bus is full and she has to wait for another bus! At 12:00 there is still no bus!! I paid for her to return today as I have to be at work tomorrow. What is your excuse? Why ask for date and time when you make booking when it's first come first served anyway!???!!!
