On Sunday, 27 January'13 I was checked in to fly from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town at 15:25. When I arrived at the gate 30 minutes prior to boarding, I was notified by an upset traveler that the flight was cancelled.

I had to go back through security and check in again only to be told there was no space. Needless to say I was very upset. The agent assisting me said that there was no pilot so the flight had to be cancelled. She furthermore insisted that she made an announcement which we definitely did not hear in the departure hall. Eventually I got a seat on the 17:00 plane, but only after her solution was to fly me to Johannesburg and then Cape Town at 20:00.

Furthermore, the electronic boards in the departure hall were all still displaying 26 January'13 information. When we told her this she said it wasn't true so I showed her myself that it was indeed true.

This is the second similar incident I experienced from Port Elizabeth airport.
