Flight Delayed/Cancelled without warning! pathetic

What a long day of confusion & inconvenience. I was booked on flight number JE624 from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth ETD 11:35. I checked in at 10:30 & proceeded to the boarding gate. Whilst seated in front of the gate, as boarding was supposed to start, there was no flight, nor was there any Mango Rep to notify us that the Flight has been cancelled or delayed, eventually someone had come down &said that we needed to go back to the check-in counter. On arrival, we saw that certain people were selected from the crowd to board on a flight leaving at that time on a different airline, now note, those people that were selected were the last to arrive as they were still checking in & yet the passengers that were already checked were not given preference, WHO HAS THE AUTHORITY TO MAKE STUPID DECISIONS LIKE THAT??? I had already made appointments in PE & was supposed to return the following morning to Cape Town, they only managed to get us on a flight at 18:30, SAA express was kind enough to help the losers out. flight had to move to Friday with additional costs to me on car hire & accommodation, all got was a lousy R50 meal voucher... Really Mango??? for all the inconvenience??? Really???
