Last week 14th June, 2 friends and I were flying out of ORIT to Cyprus. We missed the flight due to incorrect information provided by the ground staff (Gate and time). We arrived 5 minutes late for the gate and they refused to let us board, yet on other flights boarding gates have stayed open up to an hour later. It took them 30 minutes to off load us - logic? We had to buy a new tickets out of Durban to Cyprus, when we were to return on our original ticket we were advised it was unused and had been cancelled by Emirates after being advised we could return on that ticket. We had to purchase new tickets. 37k later we arrived back in JHB, only to be told by this company it would take 30 days to review our case. All we want is our money refunded, the companies can change what they like as they like at our huge expense. Each person we spoke to have provided us with a different story so who knows the truth. I used to rate them as my preferred airline, now they are a joke. There is no service, they are not helpful and no one seems to know the company policies. I vote SAA and urge Emirates companions to arrive 6 hours early for the flight in case they change their min.
