Would you give out personal details??

I received a call from somebody claiming to be from Cell C asking for my personal details ie ID number etc. When I queried what it was in connection with, the answer was "your account". I again questioned exactly what about the account? The answer was I can't tell you until you give me your personal details. Now I ask... who in this day & age of corruption / ID / internet, gives out their personal details without knowing exactly who they are talking to? This person would not tell me what she was calling about. Subsequently my phone has been barred for all outgoing comms. I contacted Cell C to sort it out. All details were given etc and I asked when the phone will be operational again. The answer, next month!!! I now must sit with no phone. I requested to speak to a Supervisor, after holding for about 15 mins, I was promptly cut off. Nothing achieved other than extreme frustration. Cell C, your Call Center staff need some training on how to offer decent customer service. Time to move to another service provider I think.
