I purchased a 2 year contract consisting of an 8TA 3G modem, a Lenova computer and 5GB monthly data, in July 2013. When I set it up at home it did not work. Surfing the internet was no pleasure as each page took 20 minutes to load. When it rained their was no signal at all.
I phoned 8Ta care center who advised me to go back to my local Telkom branch immediately as they should have first sent out a technician to check the reception. The care center told me to cancel this contract and go onto an ADSL line, because there is no reception where I live, ... which I did. I am happy with the ADSL.
The only problem is I am still getting debited every month for the first contract even though I filled in the cancellation form and was told it was all in order and they would advise me when to return the Lenova. I was prepared to buy the Lenova from Telkom but now have lost faith in them as I cant get through to anyone even after numerous visits to the local branch. I still have the Lenova, and the 3G modem. I am getting charged every month for something I cannot use and I was told by THEM to cancell. WHAT can I do???
