Vodacom
EXPIRY OF MINUTES AND DATA

Telecommunications

Hi. I have been a Vodacom contract customer for a number of years. My query is with regards to free minutes as well as data i receive as part of my contract. Why does the data and free minutes i receive expire after one month? i have paid for these minutes as well as data amounts. If the data and free minutes expire, surely i should then be offered a credit for the unused portion of minutes or data. Alternatively, the data and minutes should be available for use indefinitely (considering that they are already paid for). How is it that the cellphone operators are allowed to do this? Further, your usage is first deducted of the current month available minutes or data and not from oldest available amounts. This methodology is firmly in favour of the service provider and is a direct disadvantage to the customer who then ends up paying ridiculous out of bundle rates. Any resonse or clarification would be welcome.
