Upgrade and cancellation of Platinum membership

I am a loyal customer since 1999 and always a platinum member since. I have tried communicating with Vodacom directly, but i have been moved from pillar to post with no real answers. This is my story: I have always upgraded my handset on a yearly basis, however on the 1st of April 2013, i went to Vodaworld for my upgrade, and i was told that my membership has been cancelled and none of the staff could tell me why? i subsequently called the call centre 0821903 on the 8th April, but was redirected to the 082111 call centre. The agent managed to figure out that my contract has been extended to May 2015 and that it begins from May 2013. (Note May 2013 has come as yet)
Firstly it is totally unacceptable for me to upgrade in three years time and without any notification from Vodacom that my contract has been extended and membership cancelled. Is this how Vodacom is going to treat its loyal customers???
