Held responsible for non-upgrades!!!

I had 4 separate cellphone contracts with Vodacom. After thousands of phone calls and cancellation of these contracts I have been battling and fighting with Vodacom regarding these accounts!! They keep on insisting that I upgraded these contracts, for which they cannot produce any signed documentation or evidence for!! They sent me a bill for close to R20 000 for these contracts, handed me over to attorneys and listed me on ITC. Due to the fact that they don't reply on any emails or are unable to provide assistance telephonically, they threatened to take my house and possessions, I signed a payment agreement with the attorneys, and now have to pay for contracts that already expired in 2010, never mind the fact that my name is now blacklisted!!! According to the helpdesk, these numbers were already allocated to NEW USERS!!! How is it then, if I upgraded the numbers (according to them), that they can be allocated to new users? I cant see why I have to pay this rediculous amount of money for service and cellphone equipment that I don't even utilize or have in my possession. Very disappointed in Vodacom and will never ever refer anyone to them, pathetic service!!!
