Eware of fake calls re microsoft support

Telecommunications

On 20 March 2013 I received a call from a woman pretending to be from Microsoft support, to help sort out problems that Windows XP users were supposed to be having. She managed to get my IP address from me (she had the first 4 or 5 digits and I gave her the rest!) Then she handed me to a guy who proceeded to tell me that my computer was about to crash and that for a price, R1500, he could fix this. When I realised I had been conned and was'nt prepared to pay anything, he started a timer on my screen, counting down to the crash and slammd the phone down. On caller I.D. afterwards, I realised the call came from a Telkom number (ones you dial for queries and technical support)
On 22 March, I cancelled my Telkom data bundle and signed up with another service provider. Within 30 minutes of having switched over, same man who threatened me a few days previously, phoned again and said he had " threatening signals" from my computer, was it switched on as there was a problem. When I asked where he was caling from, he said Telkom. When I told him I had cancelled my data bundle, he slammed the phone down.
He obviously had my phone number and knew my home address and part of my IP address... TELKOM
