Phone damge responsibility

Telecommunications

I took out a contract in December 2012.In Jan 2013 my new Galaxy S3 had problems charging. I took the phone to MTN at Irene mall to be checked out. The salesman ticked all the boxes on the check sheet and even noting that there's not a scratch on the phone. Behind the battery there's a white strip indicating water damage that's not covered by the warrantee. The salesman removed the battery and told my wife it's the latest technology and when it turns purple it's a sign of water damage. The paper was white and all the checks performed. I have signed proof from the salesman that the phone had NO LIQUID DAMAGE. The phone was send in and came back with a report that it was water damaged. I mean my responsibility stopped when the phone was signed in by the salesman. I don't have control of what happens after me signing the phone over to your shop. My contract of R350.00 started in Dec 2012 and I am now paying a contract with no phone. Speaking of service, since when does a manager tells my wife that he is not interested and she must do whatever. If I don't get satisfaction, a new phone, I will consult with the CPA rules in mind.

Not what I expected from a multi-billion rand company wit
