Phone still at repairs due to store erro

Telecommunications

On 2 January 2013, I handed in my pretty much brand new Nokia 920 to be repaired at the MTN Direct shop at The Grove. It would not switch on. The help was fast and friendly - something I generally associate with this shop. At the time, the sales clerk assisting me gave me back both my sim card, and the card holder that is a part of the phone, so that they would not "get lost" (his words) at the repair place. He indicated that it would take 7-14 days to fix... I waited. Today, 14 January, I was informed by MTN that my phone had been sent back unrepaired because they needed the sim card holder - that I was given by the MTN store clerk for safekeeping - before they could fix my phone. Now, I must wait another 7-14 days. This is ridiculous. I am still without a phone, it will be a whole month before I see it again. A month which I am paying for, to sit and wait, without a phone - due to misinformation on MTN's part.
I did not feel able to complain at the store, since he and another store attendant (the manager I think) were standing on opposite sides of the door, effectively blocking entry into the shop. I surely do not want to complain in the very public mall's passageway.
