Data bundle disappeared

I contacted the 8ta call centre after about 45minutes and I got a message saying that my data bundle has been depleted. Before I started using the Internet, I had about 840Mb. I did not download anything like movies, music - nothing. I was on job hunting sites (careerjunction, careerjet). I called the 8ta call centre and was told that I had used up 800Mb in 46 minutes. During the first call i made I got a R5 recharge. They insisted that i had recharged when I didn't because firstly I was still talking to their agent and I used the sim card on my iPad so it's not for making calls. I escalated the matter because no one could explain how that much would be used in that time period considering various factors (speed of the device, no downloads and all updates are switched off) and where the R5 recharge came from. I was given a case number and told that they would get back to me in 72 hours. I'm still waiting. In the meantime I have stopped using 8ta and will not use it until I get answers.

I think they somehow took my data and gave me a R5 recharge as consolation.
