MTN Fails to Execute Debit Orde

Good day,

I signed a contract for the Uncapped Lite Internet service in November 2012. I authorised a debit order to be executed by MTN on the first of every month.

The debit order was not executed in January. I enquired at MTN in Menlyn Retail Park and was told that the debit order would be executed in February, that my account would not be in arrears, that my credit record would not be affected, and that my service would not be suspended.

Within the same month, I received my account from MTN. The account was marked as being in arrears and my service was subsequently suspended.

At the beginning of February, MTN executed a debit order for the account dating all the way back to November 2012.

Now it is March and MTN has again failed to execute its debit order.

I would like the following:

1. Please debit my bank account before 13 March 2013.
2. Please debit my bank account on the first of each subsequent month, as agreed.
3. Please provide me with a written confirmation, with reference number, that MTN did not report my account as being in arrears to the credit bureaus.

If this problem is not resolved I will escalate the matter to the Credit Ombud.
