In 2009, I opened a package account for ADSL and landline at my home with Telkom. I have had a landline with them since 2006. Perhaps because they just installed the cables that year in my area, the service was down every other day, either the landline wasnt working or the adsl was not. I kept calling them and they would respond after a few days and each time I had to deal with someone else. It was clear they didnt know what the real problem was and they were just trying their luck. this went on for 9 months and I continued to pay them the full R500 per monthn despite the fact that I wasnt getting the service. It was a full time job dealing with them. I made it clear to them they need to refund me for the poor service. With every phone call leaving me almost in tears because I had to talk to someone new each time. I decided, I will stop paying them because they owe me for months of nondelivery. Months after that, they compensated me a ridiculously low amount and I told them I wasnt happy about it and we need arbitration. I reported the case with the Communication Commission then. Still waitin. Over the years, I kept to my position and I get threatening letters from Telkom lawyers
