Mweb
New MWeb call centre numbers to cost you more

I note that MWeb has changed its support number to 087 700 0777.

Many of their customers will be using a Telkom landline to call this number (previously 0861...).

The service provider of the 087 number (I assume it is Mweb) will therefore not be included in most of the packages. Also MWeb will receive income in interconnection fees so that the longer the call the more they will make.

I see this as an intentional move to make more money out of their customers - especially those who experience a poor service - shame on them!

They should at least have the courtesy to notify their customers how much more they will be paying for the call. Merely informing your customers that the numbers change and not tell them what the impact will be is not acceptable for an entity that accesses annuity income and is in a support industry.

Despite my earlier communication to Mweb they have sent out a second notification of number change pushing their free "onnet" calls but not communicating to us that we could/would be paying more for us to communicate with them
