Poor call centre service, great lack of service

Having noticed an irregular bill on my contract for out of bundle data usage I called the Vodacom service number, my only intention being to find out what I.Ps and URLs where consuming my data as my smartphone monitors data usage and has done so very well since i received it and this time i couldn't see where these megabytes where going.

The feedback, after a 20 minute call was that i needed to have itemized billing to get assistance from the so called Advanced Data Department. So I need to pay to get customer service on a product i am paying over R400 for every month.

Is their staff incompetent or do they lack the proper infrastructure that allows for client issues to be resolved on first call? At this rate, Vodacom should lay their customer service to waste and and let client's handle their accounts online. I have been a client for over 10 years and i find this highly inappropriate.
