One of my friends subscribed to the 5gig adsl promo. The movement of the adsl line is included in the package free of charge. When my friend moved, the line was deactivated and she requested that the service be activated at their new residence. Upon asking Telkom how long it will take they responded 7 working days, as 7 days passed, she phoned once again and was told that a further 21 working days may pass within they will install her line. At this stage she received a bill for the line rental as well as the internet bundle, which she is unable to use. I phoned the and spoke with the billing department as well as the activation department, the billing department said she will be refunded when the line is active again whereas on two different calls to the activation department of which the first person said she still has to pay (as it usually costs approx R500 to move the line, so she should be content in paying R300 for unused internet rather than the R500) Upon the second call the person said as long as the line has been deactivated at the previous residence she will not have to pay... I would like some clarity on this matter, and possibly proof in writing of Telkom's policy on this
