My week of with Telkom slow off the mark

On Monday night I got home to a dismally slow 2mb ADSL uncapped connection to greet me. When I called Telkom, I was informed that there was a problem on the Exchange and that technicians had been made aware of it. On Tuesday, still nothing had been done, so I called again and a fault was logged. Now it's Thursday evening and still NOTHING has been done.

I've called at least once daily and Telkom just don't seem to care. I keep getting told "no technicians have been assigned yet". Well, it's been 4 days! How long does it take? This isn't the service I was promised and it most definitely isn't the service I want to be paying for.

My mom works from home and needs the ADSL running. At the moment it can take up to 5 minutes to load Google. Nobody can work on that. I'd be better off with a 20 year old 56k dial up modem at this point. I highly doubt that Telkom is going to reimburse me for the income lost this week as a result of their embarrassing complacency and lack of professionalism and responsiveness when dealing with support queries.

Nobody calls or smses me. Just a simple "we haven't forgotten about you" would be nice, but apparently I don't pay enough for that...
