Stupid pricing structure

I am employeed at a large corporate in JHB. I phoned 08213543, Vodacoms corporate deparment to enquire about talking out a new contract for the iPhone 5 on the iPhone talk 240 package, and to find out what the corporate discount structure is. I was told that Vodacom no longer offer discounts on any of the smart plans (including iphone and blackberry packages), when I checked in December they were offering discounts on the iPhone packages but the iPhone 5 was not released as yet. I was told that we can only get discounts on the business plan or any of the stardard talk plans. So if i take a standard talk plan and add a data bundle i wont get a discount and I will have to pay the handset fee in cash, which is more expensive. So at this point its better to not have a discount as thats the cheaper option. This clearly doesnt make sense, and professional at a big corporate needs data on their phone. So what is the point of offering discounts on plans that dont have any value?? Vodacom Business havent thought this one out clearly. Luckily my complany has a corporate discount at MTN as well, looks like they have a much better offering. Cheers Vodacom
