Beware Itec's contract

In 2008 I signed an agreement with Itec whereby they would supply and maintain a photo copier for my business. I had lost track of time and knowing that the termination date of the contract would be early 2013 I requested Itec to let me know when the exact termination date was and when will they come and collect their machine. Here follows the reply I received from Earl Nuku;

Kindly note, in order for us to cancel the relevant rental and service contracts we require a 90 days notice of cancellation letter from yourselves prior to the expiry date which reflects on my side as the 31/1/2013 (Clause 20), over and above the requests that you discussed with Brendan and Nelson have you sent Itec South or Itec Finance this letter because without that the agreements have automatically renewed for an additional 12 months and to action suspension would require settlement payment?

- No friendly note to warn me that after paying 5 years you need to give a 90 day notification.
- After honouring the contract for 5 years and not giving 90 days notification, I'm in for another 12 months!!

The lack of transparency is appalling and all I can say is beware of the Itec contract!
