I have been trying to port my number from mtn to cell c since Sunday, 6 January 2013. After approximately 15 attempts to port from cell c still no luck. I have called the Helpdesk on numerous occasions and after each attempt to port I receive an SMS indicating that my operator has declined the port. Talking to the various agents at the mtn call centre I was first advised that cell c used my first name in the application form and not ID number so I called cell c and advised accordingly..still declined. Then I was advised by an mtn agent that my account number was captured incorrectly where it should have been a capital K it was a small k..cell c amended and another decline. I was then advised that my number was still on the billing system therefore it did not port..another decline. I thereafter went to the mtn store on the 9th of january in sandton city and was advised that all was in order to port. On the 10th of January, 5 days since trying to port I was advised that I need to go into an mtn store to rica my prepaid number. I asked to speak to the manager and the call was then dropped on me with no attempt of mtn trying to call me back..disgusting service! Is this trial & error?
