Friday night, after realising that my phone had been, I called Vodacom Call Centre to have my phone blocked and handset blacklisted.

I asked that the confirmation be sent to my fianc? es number. I was also instructed to obtain a police report to perform a SIM swop. The next morning, I went to the Vodacom shop in Tygervalley and was told that I needed an Affidavit to perform a SIM swop, and not a case number. Luckily the consultant performed the SIM swop since I had the original SIM documentation. I purchased a new handset (still waiting for SIM activation).

Saturday, my fianc? e noticed that his phone is not working. He kept getting an error message 'invalid SIM'. When I called Vodacom to ask what was going on, it turns our that they blacklisted HIS phone and not mine. When I asked them to fix the problem, I was instructed that they can not and that I need to fill in some forms to reverse the process (which they mucked up!!).

How can Vodacom blacklist the wrong handset and then expect me to perform a bunch of time wasting admin tasks to fix the error that they made? His phone is still blocked and the has a unblacklisted handset.

Pathetic!!
