3G data top-up - Vodacom are!

Telecommunications

My current 3G data bundle expires today, so while logged on and connected today, I topped-up with a new data bundle that expires on the 1st March 2014. Here I was trying to use up my old bundle, when I noticed that data was been removed from the new bundle - which only expires next month. However, when I connected to the customer support via the on-line chat line to a 'slow to respond' agent, the agent advised that it is "company policy" to deduct data from the new bundle before going back to the older bundle. That is madness and really bad policy as they are hoping that we will not get to use old data bundles and these will expire without been used. I am horrified at this uncaring policy from an even more non-customer centric service provider. To me it makes logical sense to use up the old data bundle first before using the new data, Afrihost can do this simple calculation, why can't Vodacom? Oh yes, that is right they can't because it is company policy to from their customers! sigh! :( I wasted all that money buying the new bundle which I now need to 'waste' and use up today so that I can get back to using up my unused old data bundle today before it expires.
