I took a new contract with MTN (Mobile Communications) on 3 Dec 2013, receivd my new phone, my prepaid no was ported 2 MTN contract, I used the phone for 5 days. on Mon9th Dec I returnd the phone due to a defect. I was told a new device wil b ready 4me on Frid 13th Dec, I waited 2 long. MTN cud not give me a date for a phone and NEVER answer their store phone I then contactd the operations manager it was almost 3 weeks, I had already paid for the first instalment 4d contract and still didn't have a phone. I wantd to then cancel this contract as I had to now get another phone due to the fact that MTN could not provide me with a device.
I called 808 to Request a credit on my bill of R 834 for the use of a phone that I only had for 6 days before it was returned and Request to cancel this contract that MTN could not honour. Pearl took my call ref number 10826007 n requested that I go to the store and the store call retentions due to the complications of there being no note on the system. Retentions claim that there is a cancellation fee of approx. R 11 300 The phone is worth R 10 500. I have sent numerous emails to MTN complaints and customer care, all I get is an automatic response
