Virgin wont close my contract

I emailed Cancellations at Virgin mobile on the 16th of January 2012, after finding out that my contract was done. before i emailed them i phoned them and requested that they cancel the contract, but emailed just to confirm.
the amount of R149.00 is still coming out of my account and i cant stop it. what now
do i lose the R1000.00 that was lost in the debits every month and keep paying?
virgin mobile please cancel my contract and let it be done.
