At the end of November 2013 I placed an order with Telkom for a landline, to ultimately get ADSL. I soon followed up the first week of Dec, and was told due to a lack of infrastructure in my area (Bedfordview) that they would only be able to install in 30 days. Which I was fine with. The end of Dec I followed up once again, only to be told that my address was "incorrect". I then sent an email with the address as on my utility bill. After a week of no response, I followed up once again today. Shockingly the operator informs me that they will only be able to install in 30 days. Which will make it 90 days since I placed the order, and 60 days from the original installation date. Although 2 operators said they would phone me back, neither did. This whole process has just been empty promises and a complete waste of time. I have now cancelled my order, thankfully Telkom are no longer the monopoly.
