Smash and grab and still in trauma

Two weeks ago I lost my phone through a smash and grab incident. I wasnt able to suspend my number until the following day after which these assailants had ran a bill of over R9000 on my contranct. I was contacted by MTN to inform me that my line had been suspended. I'm still confused as to how the bill got that high given that i have a R3000 limit on the contract. However, I explained the situation and was told to submit the case number, affidavit and copy of my ID to resolve the matter. Two weeks later im still waiting for a response. I've sent tons of e-mails, tried calling various numbers and I'm still in the fear that at the end of the month R9000 is going to debited to my account and i will be kicked out of my place for not making rent.
I also had insurance on my phone. I sent the form and necessary documentation to 3 different e-mail address. I've had no response other than the automatic reply that my mail is acknowldged. I've even been to the contanct centre 3 or 4 times to ask about it and i'm still waitng. I'm generally a patient, easy temprered person, but now i think nearing a melt down. I would greatly appreciate some assistance in these matters.
