Massive data bill dispute - no feedback!!!

On the 2nd of January I received an SMS to advise me that Vodacom has detected unusually high data usage on my cellphone and that I should contact the number provided. I then immediately lodged a dispute as I have never used this amount of data in my life before. I have Wi-Fi at Home and never download anything large on my mobile phone. These also all happened after 12am into the morning hours whilst I am asleep. I am in a fairly senior position at a bank and have a very demanding Corporate career and do not sit up at all hours of the night to download things. Why did it take Vodacom over a month to alert me of these high data charges?
I have tried to follow up with this Mr. Maynard Abrahams to no avail. So far Lyle has been the only helpful person but still no resolution.
I am faced with a debit order of R5469.23 on the 1st of February and I will not be paying this amount and wait for Vodacom to sort out this on my account. My normal total cellphone bill amounts to no more than R1200 p/m. With data downloads in excess of over R4000, I expect these charges to be reversed.
I was advised that it will take 14 working days to provide me with the outcome.
