Not cancelling my contract yet charging more

Send cancellation in August 2013 which was acknowledged by Autopage. To date I am struggling to cancel my contract and I can't even go to another service provider as this contract still not cancelled yet I am charged R500 more / on top of old contract which for the same service I would actually pay about R600 less if I am able to renew my contract. But definitely not with autopage because MTN has more services & options if you go direct to them. Currently I am being sent from finance, to credit control to cancellation and no one wants to take ownership or resolve this issue. What can I do to port my number as I would like to keep my existing one.
