In September 2013 I upgraded a Data Contract to a Prepaid contract. I received a new cell phone with a new sim card immediately. This cell phone and contract I gave to my domestic worker as she looks after my son in the afternoons after school. However, Vodacom's Upgrade department failed to migrate the contract to the Prepaid Contract as I requested. Every month I call them, and they acknowledge they have everything, and they will sort it out immediately. THIS WAS ONLY DONE IN JANUARY 2014! In the mean time, my domestic worker made calls on this sim card, at data rates, and I incurred over R4000 in charges due to Vodacom's inability to migrate a contract upgrade on time. They said to me in December that they are very sorry that this took so long, and they will credit my account. They gave me credit in January for a little of R200. SERIOUSLY! Their incompetence and I have to carry the cost! I always thought this was the best Cell Phone provider in Africa, but their service levels are shocking. I have tried to get hold of their accounts department thru their customer care email address. Its now two weeks and the customer care consultants are apologising as no one has called me.
