High account balance: R7900!

Towards the end of December 2013, we received an sms from Vodacom to inform us that our account expenditure cap had been removed. We had not asked for this to be done.
Then a few days later we receive an sms informing us of a high account balance: R4300! This was a huge shock as our usual monthly bill is around R500-R600 a month.
20 minutes later when we get customer support on the phone we are informed the balance is now R7900!
We ask Vodacom to suspend all data access and ask them to investigate. We were informed that advanced accounts would investigate and that it would take 14 days. We've had no response since then, despite numerous calls and repeated promises that they will get back to us. It is now only a week until the debit order of almost R8000 is due to come off our account, money which we simply cannot afford to pay. We are turning to HelloPeter in a last attempt to get this sorted out... Vodacom, please respond?!
